Bharti Singh Opens Up About Taking A Pay Cut For Shows Dance Deewane 3 And The Kapil Sharma Show, Says ‘I Negotiated A Lot Over It’
Comedian Bharti Singh is currently seen hosting the reality dance show Dance Deewane 3. The actor entertains the viewers and audiences with her perfect comic timing and great sense of humour. Bharti will also be soon seen tickling our funny bone with her new show The Kapil Sharma Show. But did you know that Bharti has taken a pay cut for both her shows? Yes, you read that right!  The actress reportedly took 70 per cent and around 50 per cent pay cut -- for Dance Deewaane and TKSS respectively -- keeping in mind the current pandemic situation.

While speaking with the Times Of India, Bharti revealed that she negotiated a lot with the makers before agreeing to the decided salary. She also mentioned that she didn't mind taking the pay cut, however, the makers should not reduce the technicians' salaries.

“I guess everyone felt the pinch when they were asked to take a pay cut, and I was no exception. I also negotiated a lot over it. However, when I reflected on the recent times and what has unfolded in the last year, I realised itna kaam band ho gaya hai. TV and shows ko sponsors nahi mil rahe hain toh channels kahaan se paisa laayein (Work has shut down, channels have lost sponsors). Everyone is trying to get back on their feet. Once we generate good ratings, sponsors will automatically come back and our fee will also be raised,” she stated.

She added that though everyone has had pay cuts, technicians shouldn't be made to go through this. “We are working together and trying our best to stay afloat. So, I don’t think anyone had an issue in taking a pay cut,” Bharti concluded.

Reports also say that others at TKSS have also taken a pay cut owing to the pandemic.

The new version of The Kapil Sharma Show is all set to return on the small screen on August 21, 2021. Besides Kapil and Bharti, the show will also feature Krushna Abhishek, Chandan Prabhakar, Kiku Sharda, Archana Puran Singh and Sudesh Lehri.
